Is Double G Driving Academy approved in Texas? Yes. Double G Driving Academy is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) for online driver education.

Who is this online driver education course for? This course is for teens ages 14–17 who are completing Parent-Taught Driver Education in Texas.

How long does the online course take to complete? The course includes 32 hours of instruction, as required by the state. Students can complete it at their own pace.

Can my teen access the course at any time? Yes. The course is available 24/7 and can be completed from any device with internet access.

Do parents need to be involved in the course? Yes. A parent or legal guardian must be registered as the Parent Instructor and is responsible for approving driving logs and course completion.

When will my student be able to get their learner’s permit? After completing Module 1 of the online course, students receive a completion certificate that allows them to apply for a Texas learner license. The remaining modules are completed while the student practices behind-the-wheel driving with a parent instructor.

When will my student be able to get their driver license? After receiving a learner license, the student must hold it for at least six months and complete the required behind-the-wheel driving hours. Once those requirements are met and the student passes the driving test, they can apply for a Texas provisional driver license.
